The Somei Yoshino cherry trees planted during the G7 Hiroshima Summit have bloomed with the arrival of spring, bearing three flowers each

During last year’s G7 Summit held in Hiroshima, three blossoms bloomed on a second-generation cherry blossom tree, which was planted by the leaders of various countries in the Peace Memorial Park.

The location of the planted cherry blossom tree is towards the west from the “Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims.” Surrounding it are fully bloomed cherry blossoms.

This young tree is still in the process of growing and is of low stature, thriving with lush green leaves under the warm spring weather. Upon a closer look, one can notice something white appearing at the tips of its branches.

Upon closer inspection, there were three adorable blossoms blooming there.

This year, we had been anticipating the tree’s growth, not expecting it to blossom, so witnessing this delightful flowering came as a pleasant surprise.
