An event connecting 50 artworks at galleries in preserved districts and islands in the Seto Inland Sea during Golden Week

An event called “Sea-Connected Art Walk” will be held during the Golden Week period, featuring 50 art events at galleries and venues in Kure City, Takehara City, and Oosaki Shimojima and Kamijima islands.

The event will take place mainly at galleries and exhibition spaces along the Seto Inland Sea coast. With the theme of “Connecting Art by the Sea,” the event will include exhibitions, sales of artworks, and workshops against the backdrop of the Seto Inland Sea’s landscapes.

Visitors can enjoy the harmony of art and the charming streetscapes in preserved districts like the “Takehara Machinami Hozon Chiku,” preserving the Edo period townscape, and the “Mitaraicho Machinami Hozon Chiku” in Osaki Shimojima.

A wide range of art genres will be exhibited and sold, including paintings, illustrations, stained glass, calligraphy, ceramics, leather goods, and bamboo crafts, showcasing diverse expressions of creativity. Workshops will offer various art experiences such as accessory making, tote bag stamping, postcard making, dyeing, and candle making.

This art event offers an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery where nature and art blend while encountering new art pieces and artists. The event will run from April 27th (Saturday) to May 6th (Monday), with different dates depending on the location.
