2024 Flower Festival Guest to be Ikusaburo Yamazaki, Theme Queen Also Announced

This year marks the complete revival of the prominent event representing Hiroshima, the “Hiroshima Flower Festival,” after a five-year hiatus, coinciding with the three days of Golden Week. The special guest for this year has been confirmed as Ikusaburo Yamazaki.

Ikusaburo Yamazaki, known for his versatile roles as an actor and singer, is scheduled to appear on the main stage, Carnation Stage, set up within the Peace Memorial Park on May 3rd (Friday, public holiday). The exact performance time is currently being adjusted.

While Yamazaki has visited Hiroshima in the past for concert tours, this will be his first participation in the Flower Festival. He expressed, “I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone directly at this wonderful festival.”

Last year, Hiroshima-born Hitomi Shimatani participated as a special guest, contributing to the overall flower parade and stage performances.

The Flower Festival annually invites theme suggestions from the public, and this year’s theme has already been decided.
