Klook, a leading travel and leisure booking platform, has partnered with the city of Hiroshima to launch e-tickets for the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum on February 16, 2024. Tickets will be available in 14 languages on Klook’s website and app, as well as on the museum’s official website.
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is a vital public facility that exhibits and preserves precious materials that convey the reality of the atomic bomb’s devastation to people from all over the world and provides an opportunity to learn about peace. Following the G7 Hiroshima Summit held in May of last year, interest in the museum has grown significantly, with the number of annual visitors reaching nearly 2 million in 2023. The proportion of foreign visitors has also exceeded 30%, with long queues and congestion becoming an issue during peak times such as domestic holidays and school trips.
To address these challenges, the city of Hiroshima has decided to launch a pilot program to enable online pre-purchase and reservation of tickets for the museum, which previously were only available for purchase at the on-site ticket booth. Klook has been selected as the sole overseas online travel agency to offer this service to inbound visitors, through its website and app, as well as on the museum’s official website.
This initiative is expected to bring the following benefits:
Elimination of queues at the on-site ticket booth
Alleviation of congestion within the museum
Enhanced convenience for inbound visitors through multi-language support
Seamless purchase experience with multi-currency and multi-payment system support
Klook is the only overseas online travel agency selected to offer this service. E-tickets can be purchased in advance on Klook’s website and app, as well as on the museum’s official website, for specific time slots (reservations are only available for certain time slots).
If you are planning to visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, we recommend purchasing your e-tickets in advance on Klook.
