Hiroshima Food Festival 2025, one of the largest gourmet events in Hiroshima, will be held over two days on October 25 (Sat) and October 26 (Sun) at Hiroshima Castle, its surrounding areas, and the Hiroshima Stadium Park.
Bringing together local gourmet dishes, sake, and specialty products from all over Hiroshima Prefecture, this autumn tradition attracts around 600,000 visitors each year to enjoy the best flavors the region has to offer.
This year, approximately 400 booths are expected to line the venue, offering an abundance of seasonal delicacies. Visitors can savor Hiroshima’s signature dishes such as Hiroshima oysters, Hiroshima beef, Sera beef, and okonomiyaki including the famous Fuchu-style version. A wide selection of local sake, regional specialties, and sweets will also be available, making it a perfect opportunity to experience the charm of Hiroshima through food.
In addition to the culinary attractions, visitors can enjoy a cultural highlight on October 26 (Sun) when the Iwakuni Domain Gun Corps Preservation Society performs a matchlock gun shooting demonstration in front of Hiroshima Castle’s main keep. The performances will take place at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., commemorating the 470th anniversary of the Battle of Itsukushima and the 400th anniversaries of Lords Terumoto Mori and Hiroie Kikkawa. This special event offers a rare chance to witness the powerful live firing and feel the spirit of samurai history.
Admission is free. The Hiroshima Castle area is conveniently accessible via the “Maple~Loop” sightseeing bus (Orange Route) at the “Hiroshima Castle” stop, or about a 15-minute walk from the Kamiya-cho Higashi/Nishi streetcar stops on the Hiroshima Electric Railway.
Come and experience this beloved autumn tradition where food and culture come together in the heart of Hiroshima.
