Miyajima, one of Hiroshima’s most famous tourist destinations, will host the 25th Miyajima Hina Meguri from Saturday, March 15, 2025. This annual spring event showcases hina dolls at approximately 30 locations, including popular sightseeing spots such as Daisho-in Temple and the Museum of History and Folklore, as well as inns and local shops. Visitors can explore the island’s historic streets while admiring these beautiful traditional dolls.
Miyajima is home to an exceptional collection of luxurious hina dolls dating from the Edo period to the early Showa era. The event offers a unique opportunity to appreciate these historical treasures while strolling through the Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Locations featuring hina doll exhibits are marked with pink banners displayed at their entrances.
During the event, special programs will also take place, including Heian-era kimono dressing experiences, traditional tea ceremonies, and hina-themed concerts.
Additionally, starting Monday, March 3, the Miyajima Fukuyose Hina exhibit will be held, where retired seven-tier hina displays are creatively arranged in unique and freeform settings. This offers yet another delightful way to experience the charm of hina dolls on Miyajima.
