Kure Seafood Festival 2025: A Celebration of Hiroshima’s Finest Oysters with 100 Gourmet Delights

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025 (a public holiday), the Kure Seafood Festival 2025 will take place in the park area along Kuramoto Street in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. This gourmet event will highlight oysters, one of Hiroshima’s most famous seafood specialties.

Hiroshima is Japan’s top oyster-producing region, and Kure City stands among the leading producers. At the festival, visitors can enjoy a variety of oyster delicacies, including fresh, shucked oysters and oysters in the shell. A diverse selection of oyster dishes will also be available, such as grilled oysters, oyster rice, oyster croquettes, and oyster negiyaki (savory green onion pancakes with oysters). This is the perfect opportunity to savor Hiroshima’s renowned oysters in all their forms.

In addition to oyster dishes, the festival’s food booths will feature an array of local specialties, festival favorites, and seafood delicacies from Kure. In total, approximately 100 gourmet options will be available, offering a rich culinary experience for all attendees.

The event venue consists of three sections along Kuramoto Street: Komorebi Square, Art Square, and Tsudoi Square. Some booths will offer shipping services, allowing visitors to send fresh, shucked oysters to various regions across Japan.

The Kure Seafood Festival will run from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with sales concluding once items are sold out. Additionally, an opening ceremony is scheduled at Tsudoi Square at 9:45 AM.
