The 36th Hiroshima Boat Show Marine Grand Festa 2024 will be held on both May 25th (Saturday) and 26th (Sunday) at the Hiroshima Kannon Marina, located in Nishi-ku, Hiroshima City.
One of the distinctive features of this marine event is the opportunity to freely explore boats and yachts exhibited both on land and in the sea. Particularly noteworthy is the “floating exhibition,” where boats are displayed floating in the marina, allowing visitors to experience them firsthand.
Moreover, there are exciting experiential activities available for those who love the sea and watercraft, including boat handling experiences and mini-cruising on cruiser yachts.
The venue offers a plethora of marine-related events, including fishing talk shows, boat crafting experiences, and lifeboat boarding experiences, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Additionally, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of events, such as demonstrations by narcotics detection dogs and performances by the Sanyo High School Taiko Drumming Club “Dan.”
Limited-number free marine sports trial sessions
During the event, there will be two types of marine sports trial sessions available: Hansa Dinghy and SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding). Five trial sessions are scheduled to take place during the event period, with a maximum of 8 participants for Hansa Dinghy and 10 participants for SUP per session. Advance registration is required, and applications are now being accepted. Each session will be accompanied by an instructor to ensure the safety of participants, including children and individuals with disabilities.
Applications can be submitted via the official website of the Hiroshima Kannon Marina, and the selection will be conducted by lottery on May 15th.
While adults are also welcome to participate in the marine sports trial sessions, priority will be given to elementary and middle school students in the lottery, aiming to provide an enjoyable experience primarily for children.
Don’t miss the chance to experience valuable activities such as marine sports trials and boarding experiences at the Hiroshima Boat Show. The event will run from 10:00 to 17:00 on both days.
